The IBM 10N7249 is a single-port 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI Express adapter for Power Systems, carrying feature code and CCIN 5773, and built on the Emulex LPe11000 design. A single-port card is used where a machine needs one more path to storage than its existing adapters provide, or where two separate cards are preferred over two ports on one card so that a card failure cannot take both paths at once. Note that a small number of resellers list this part as feature code 5733, which does not match the consensus of IBM and the rest of the market. Confirm the slot type before ordering.
