The IBM 39M6014 is a dual-port 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI-X host bus adapter built around the QLogic QLA2462-IBMX chipset. The card was IBM’s standard 4Gb FC HBA for connecting DS4000-series SAN storage to a PCI-X-slot server, providing two independent Fibre Channel ports for redundant fabric paths or increased bandwidth.

4Gb-generation HBAs are matched to specific driver stacks, so check the host server’s PCI-X slot support and existing HBA firmware/driver level before ordering. These adapters remain a routine requirement for maintaining Fibre Channel SAN connectivity on legacy server estates.
