The IBM 81Y9603 is a 530W power supply, model TDPS-530BB A and also listed under the companion part number 81Y9604, used across the IBM System Storage DS3200, DS3300 and DS3400 disk arrays and the matching EXP3000 expansion enclosure. It is a hot-swappable unit that fits directly into the host chassis’s power bay and works alongside its partner supply to provide redundant power, so a single failed unit can be replaced without taking the array offline.

These DS3000-series arrays and their EXP3000 expansion shelves remain in service in a number of established SAN and direct-attached storage deployments, and a genuine power supply is the standard way to restore full redundancy after a unit failure. Confirm which host chassis this unit is going into before ordering, since the DS3000-series and EXP3000 share power supplies but not every bay configuration is identical.
