The Intel F10G42BFSR is a dual port 10 Gigabit Ethernet converged network adapter of the X520-SR2 type, built on the Intel 82599 controller with two SFP+ cages for short range multimode fibre. It presents a PCI Express 2.0 x8 interface, giving up to 20 Gbit/s of bidirectional throughput across the pair of ports.

The X520 family was built for converged networking, so it supports iSCSI, NFS and Fibre Channel over Ethernet on the same wire, with Data Center Bridging to make the fabric lossless for storage traffic. Virtualisation support covers SR-IOV and Virtual Machine Device Queues, while Intel Flow Director and Receive Side Coalescing handle traffic steering and interrupt load.
