JUNIPER MP-422B /Trapeze Mobility System Wireless Access Point

The Juniper Networks MP-422B (also badged Trapeze Networks WLA422B) is an enterprise dual-radio 802.11a/b/g wireless access point, part of the Mobility Point family designed for indoor deployments with high-performance requirements. It operates across both the 2.4GHz ISM band (802.11b/g) and the 5GHz UNII band (802.11a), giving network administrators flexibility to separate legacy and modern wireless clients onto different frequency bands for better performance and reduced interference. The unit supports wireless transmission speeds of up to 54Mbps and includes diversity antennas with RP-SMA connectors, allowing external antenna options for challenging RF environments. Security is handled via WPA and WPA2, meeting typical enterprise wireless security requirements at the time of deployment. Power and connectivity are provided through two Fast Ethernet ports, with Power over Ethernet support simplifying installation in ceiling and wall-mounted locations without a local power run. As a controller-based access point from the Trapeze/Juniper Mobility System, the MP-422B is designed to be managed centrally alongside other Mobility Point units rather than operated standalone, making it well suited to campus and multi-site enterprise WLAN deployments.
