The Juniper PCG-M160-S is a PFE (Packet Forwarding Engine) clock generator board used inside Juniper M-series router chassis. It supplies the internal timing signal distributed across the router’s Flexible PIC Concentrators (FPCs) and switching fabric, and is a hot-pluggable field-replaceable unit rather than a customer-facing network interface card. On the M160 chassis specifically, two PCGs are installed for redundancy, each providing a 125-MHz system clock reference to the Flexible PIC Concentrators and switch fabric.
