The MGE 3402028200 is a Pulsar STS 16, a 1U rack-mount static transfer switch from MGE UPS Systems. It feeds single-corded equipment from two independent AC sources and moves the load automatically to the second source if the first fails, degrades or is taken down for maintenance, so servers and network devices with only one power inlet still gain the benefit of dual supplies. The 16 in the name is its 16 A current rating.

A transfer switch is not a UPS and holds no battery. It is normally fitted downstream of two separate UPS or mains feeds, and switches between them without interrupting the load. MGE UPS Systems grew out of the UPS business of Merlin Gerin in Grenoble and became part of Schneider Electric, which divided the business in 2007 between APC-MGE for large systems and Eaton for small systems.
