The Newbridge 90-2517-32/N is an eight-port E1 circuit emulation card for the MainStreet Xpress 36170 ATM switch, wired for 120 ohm balanced E1. Circuit emulation carries a conventional 2 Mbit/s E1 across the cell-based fabric of the switch so that the equipment at each end sees a transparent leased line, with the original timing rebuilt at the far end. Suppliers list this variant as 36170 E1CE 120 8 PORT at release 3.1, and the /N suffix marks the hardware revision.

Newbridge Networks was acquired by Alcatel in February 2000, which is why boards from this range carry both names, and the 36170 was later sold as the Alcatel 7470 MSP. The platform is out of vendor support and maintained from held stock. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide.
