The Nortel 25UTM00750GWA is an STM-1 optical aggregate interface card, part of Nortel’s TN-1X STM-1 add and drop multiplexer for SDH access networks. The TN-1X sits at the access edge of SDH networks, multiplexing plesiochronous tributaries up to an STM-1 aggregate signal and adding, dropping or passing traffic through at each node. TN-1X nodes installed years ago are still carrying live traffic on a number of access networks, and this card is a like-for-like Nortel spare for that installed base.
