The Nortel AL2012A41 is a Nortel BayStack 425-24T switch, a 24-port 10/100 Ethernet stackable switch fitted with a GBIC uplink slot for a Gigabit fibre or copper module. It belongs to Nortel’s BayStack 400-series wiring-closet switch family, stacking with other BayStack 420/425/450 units to build a single manageable switch fabric across a floor or building. BayStack switches of this generation remain in service in a number of established networks where the existing stack architecture is still supported, and genuine spares such as this one are needed to replace a failed unit or expand stack capacity without disturbing the rest of the fabric.
