The Nortel DS1304004 is a 1-port OC-12 multimode fibre Media Dependent Adapter (MDA) for the 8672 ATM switching module in the Passport 8600 chassis.

The MDA provides a single OC-12c/STM-4 (622.08 Mbit/s) ATM interface over 62.5/125 micron multimode fibre via an SC duplex connector, with a specified operating wavelength of 1274-1356nm and a maximum reach of around 500 metres, giving the Passport 8600 chassis high-speed optical ATM connectivity.
