Nortel NT7E23AA Option Series Telecom System Card / Module

The Nortel NT7E23AA is a maintenance interface module for the S/DMS TransportNode SONET/SDH optical transport platform. It provides the diagnostic and management access point of the network element, giving craft terminals and network management systems the local connection they need for monitoring, alarm collection, fault diagnosis and provisioning on the shelf. The NT7E23AA supports the operations, administration and maintenance functions of S/DMS TransportNode OC-3, OC-12 and OC-48 network elements rather than carrying traffic itself, and it works with the shelf processor and Operations Controller (OPC) within the transport node. It is a legacy component from Nortel’s optical transmission portfolio and remains in demand for maintaining SONET/SDH installations still in carrier and enterprise service.
