Nortel NTAK02BB: Nortel PBX SDI/DCH card, combining a serial data interface with an ISDN D-channel handler.

The Nortel NTAK02BB is an SDI/DCH card. Nortel uses SDI for the serial data interface, the RS-232 management port on a PBX, and DCH for the D-channel handler that carries ISDN signalling, and cards in this family combine both functions on one board.

The Meridian 1 range, including the Option 11C, 51C, 61C and 81C, dominated large UK and European PBX installations for two decades and plenty are still running. Cards are slot specific and generation specific, so maintenance is done at card level with matched spares rather than by swapping systems.
