The Nortel NTBK51AA is a Downloadable D-Channel Handler Interface (DCHI) daughterboard for Nortel’s Meridian 1 Option 11C system, a two-port D-channel handler card that mounts onto the NTAK09 DTI/PRI (Digital Trunk Interface/Primary Rate Interface) circuit card. It provides the signalling D-channel processing needed for PRI applications on the Option 11C CPU, as a downloadable, board-mounted alternative to using an external D-channel handler pack and its associated cabling. Meridian 1 Option 11 systems remain deployed as legacy enterprise PBX platforms in many established telephony installations, and this daughterboard is a routine spare for maintaining or restoring PRI functionality on an existing system.
