The Nortel NTNQ65AA is a Passport 6400/7400 OC-3 Multimode Function Processor (M FP), an interface card for Nortel’s Passport 6400/7400 wide-area switching platform that terminates an OC-3 (155Mbps) SONET/SDH link over multimode fibre. It fits the Passport 6400/7400 chassis’s function-processor slots alongside other interface cards, adding OC-3 WAN connectivity to the switch’s ATM or Frame Relay port group for shorter-reach multimode-fibre links between sites or equipment rooms. Passport 6400/7400 switches were deployed as carrier and enterprise wide-area edge platforms and a portion of that installed base remains in service.
