The Nortel NTCA10AA is an 8-channel DWDM coupler module with an integrated variable optical attenuator (VOA), combining a blue-band multiplexer and red-band demultiplexer for use in Nortel optical transmission systems.

The module multiplexes and demultiplexes up to eight DWDM wavelength channels onto a shared fibre pair, with the VOA allowing per-channel or aggregate optical power to be adjusted to balance the link. It is a passive/semi-passive optical component fitted into a Nortel optical transport shelf rather than a standalone device.
