The Nortel NTYS05XX is a Nortel IP Phone 1140E, a mid-range six-line IP deskphone in Nortel’s 1100-series range with a backlit greyscale display and dual-port Gigabit switch for daisy-chaining a PC connection through the phone. The 1140E was one of the most widely deployed handsets in the Nortel/Avaya CS1000 and SIP IP-telephony installed base, and remains a common like-for-like replacement for damaged or failed units on existing systems. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market unit for maintaining or expanding an existing 1140E deployment. As one of the highest-volume Nortel/Avaya IP deskphones ever shipped, the 1140E has a correspondingly large secondary market, making a used unit one of the most cost-effective ways to keep an existing 1140E-based deployment running at full desk-phone count.
