The Nortel P107335RD is a Bay Networks Backbone Link Node (BLN) server chassis, part of the Bay Networks router family Nortel inherited through its 1998 acquisition of Bay Networks. The BLN sat in the Backbone Node family alongside the larger-capacity Backbone Concentrator Node (BCN) and the smaller branch-office Access Stack Node (ASN), all running Nortel’s BayRS routing software across a common range of Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI, WAN and ATM interface modules; the BLN itself supports up to 32 network interfaces at up to 1.5 million packets per second. These chassis are legacy enterprise routing hardware, still found at the core of networks that were built on the platform and never re-architected.
