The Premisys 8901 is the AC power supply for the IMACS (Integrated Multiple Access Communications Server) 8-slot chassis, providing the shelf’s plus and minus 5V and 12V DC rails from an AC mains feed.

IMACS is Premisys’s modular multi-service access platform, with interface cards for voice and data services fitted into the chassis. Premisys Communications later became part of Zhone Technologies, so units are often found with Zhone labelling. A working supply keeps every card in the shelf in service.
