The Siemens S30817-S7401-D503 is an OpenStage 15 HFA telephone in the lava (dark) housing colour, running the HiPath Feature Access protocol rather than SIP. It is a low-cost entry desk phone for the OpenStage range: 8 programmable keys, a tiltable two-line LCD, a full-duplex hands-free speakerphone, a built-in two-port 10/100 Ethernet switch for daisy-chaining a PC, and Power over Ethernet.

Because it runs HiPath Feature Access rather than SIP, this handset registers directly against a HiPath 3000 (version 7 or later) or HiPath 4000 (version 4 or later) call server over the LAN, the same role the older digital OptiPoint sets played on Hicom/HiPath TDM ports, and it supports the OpenStage Key Module 15 side-car for additional line and speed-dial keys.
