ZTE R8840 2100 MHz remote radio unit (RRU) for ZXSDR distributed base stations.

The ZTE R8840 is an outdoor remote radio unit (RRU) from ZTE’s ZXSDR distributed base station portfolio, designed to operate in the 2100 MHz (UMTS/WCDMA band 1) frequency range. It works with a ZXSDR baseband unit (BBU) over a CPRI optical fibre link, handling radio frequency transmission and reception at the antenna site and converting digital baseband signals to and from RF for the air interface. The R8840 provides up to 60 W of output power and supports up to four carriers, and is powered from a nominal -48V DC supply. Mounting the unit close to the antenna reduces feeder loss and improves coverage compared with traditional base station designs. As a legacy macro RRU it remains in demand for maintaining and expanding installed ZTE 3G radio access networks. Available from Tech Star as new or refurbished stock.
