Unlike the stackable variants of the 3300 range, the XM model has no stacking slot, making it a plug-and-play option intended for expanding an existing site that already runs other Switch 3300 or SuperStack 3 units rather than for building a new stack from scratch. All 24 ports support 10/100Base-TX for standard desktop and workgroup Fast Ethernet connectivity. It was also sold under HP’s part number JE861A following the HP/3Com brand transition, so it turns up in the field under either label.
