The 3Com 3C16476 is a 48-port 10/100 switch with two additional 10/100/1000BASE-T uplink ports, from the 3Com SuperStack 3 Baseline range of entry-level fixed-configuration switches. The 48-port count and Gigabit uplinks make it suited to a larger workgroup or wiring closet where most connected devices are Fast Ethernet but the switch still needs a fast path back to the core or a server. Baseline switches are unmanaged or lightly-managed and sat alongside 3Com’s fully-managed SuperStack 3 line as the budget option through the early-to-mid 2000s.
