3Com 3C17532 Switch 8800 Series Switch / Carrier Ethernet Line Card

The 3Com 3C17532 is a 48-port 10/100/1000Base-T access module for the 3Com Switch 8800 Series modular chassis. It adds forty-eight auto-sensing, PoE-capable Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports to an 8800 chassis, giving network teams a high-density way to expand access-layer capacity without replacing the core switch. Each port auto-negotiates speed and duplex over standard Category 5e/6 copper cabling, and the module is hot-swappable, so it can be added or replaced without taking the whole chassis down. The 8800 platform was 3Com’s flagship modular switching range for enterprise campus and data centre deployments, and the 3C17532 is one of the most common access modules used to build out port density on that platform. It’s a good fit for organisations maintaining an existing 8800 estate who need matching hardware for expansion, redundancy or like-for-like replacement.
