The 3Com 3CRUWX302475 is a Wireless Unified LAN Controller WX3024 (also sold as part of the HP 3000 Wireless Switch Series), a centralised controller for managing a fleet of thin wireless access points across a site. It combines 24 PoE Plus Gigabit switch ports with two 10-Gigabit uplinks, so it can both power a set of directly-connected access points over PoE and provide a fast link back to the core network, rather than needing a separate PoE switch alongside a standalone controller appliance.

As a unified controller, the WX3024 centralises radio management, RF planning, roaming and policy enforcement across every AP it manages, rather than leaving each access point to be configured individually.
