The IBM 00E2873 is a 1Gb 4-port PCIe2 (x4) Ethernet-TX adapter, low-profile, feature code 5260, CCIN 576F (the same card is also shipped as the full-height FC 5899). It provides four copper 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports from a single PCIe2 slot, giving a Power Systems server extra dedicated network connectivity beyond its built-in ports, commonly used for management networks, VLAN segmentation or additional production traffic paths. The adapter is IEEE 802.3ab compliant and supports AIX Network Installation Management (NIM) boot.
