The IBM 00E2865 is a PCIe2 (x8) 4-port Ethernet adapter combining two 10Gb SFP+ ports and two 1Gb RJ45 copper ports on a single low-profile card, used in Power Systems servers (including the Power S822L) to provide mixed-speed network connectivity from one PCIe slot. The 10Gb ports support short-range fibre transceivers for high-throughput links such as storage or inter-server traffic, while the 1Gb copper ports cover management or lower-bandwidth connections, letting a single adapter cover both roles without consuming two slots.
