The IBM 39J0515 is a genuine IBM DASD board for feature #0595, the attached I/O and storage expansion unit fitted to Power5 and Power6 pSeries frames via the 7311-D20 drawer. Boards in this position carry the disk backplane and controller logic that lets the 0595 drawer present its own bay of hot-swap drives back to the host system, alongside the PDU and power-supply hardware in the same drawer family.

IBM Power Systems hardware of this generation remains in active service across established enterprise deployments, and genuine board-level spares are a routine requirement for maintaining full storage capacity in an existing 0595 drawer.
