The IBM 46X5681 is an IBM feature #5638 half-height internal LTO Ultrium 5 SAS tape drive, providing 1.5TB native / 3.0TB compressed capacity per cartridge, cross-referenced against related part numbers 46X5683, 46C2007 and 46C2009. Fitted internally to System x and Power servers with an available half-height tape bay, the drive connects over a SAS interface for local backup and archival directly on the host system, without needing a separate tape library or external enclosure.
