The IBM 53P4832 is a 435W AC hot-swap redundant power supply, CCIN 515F, designed for the 5095/0595 PCI-X expansion tower and the 7311-D20/6268 family of pSeries I/O drawers. Fitted in pairs for N+1 redundancy, the supply allows a live drive or hot-swap to continue operating and be replaced without powering down the drawer, protecting the adapters and disks installed inside it from an unplanned outage. pSeries and AS/400/iSeries expansion towers using this power-supply family remain in service across many established midrange and enterprise environments, and a genuine, correctly rated 435W unit is required to restore full redundancy after a supply failure, since running on a single supply removes the fault tolerance the drawer was designed to provide.
