The IBM 41V2395 is a Support Element mechanical assembly for the IBM zSeries mainframe, built on a ruggedised ThinkPad T43 laptop chassis. It follows the same pattern as other System z Support Element FRUs built on ThinkPad chassis of different generations, such as the T60/T61 and later T510/T520/T530 models. The zSeries mainframe uses a dedicated laptop-based Support Element as its hardware management console, running a Linux-based operating environment, and the T43 reference places this unit on an earlier ThinkPad generation than the Support Elements found on more recent zEnterprise-class frames.
