The IBM 46K5868 is a dual-port SAS PCIe adapter, feature code 57B3, running at 3Gb/s with 1.5GB of cache, sold interchangeably with the closely related 46K5840 and 44V8580 part numbers for the same feature. It provides SAS-attached disk connectivity to Power Systems servers with onboard cache to improve write performance over a cache-less controller.
