4.7GB SATA slimline DVD-RAM drive, 8x/24x, for IBM POWER6 Power Systems (FC 5762/5771). Ships worldwide.

The IBM 46K6189 is a 4.7GB SATA slimline DVD-RAM drive, 8x/24x rated, used across IBM’s POWER6 Power Systems range for OS installation media, recovery discs, backups and diagnostics via feature codes such as 5762 and 5771. It is a slimline SATA unit rather than the older IDE slimline drives used in earlier Power generations, and reads/writes standard CD and DVD formats alongside DVD-RAM Type II discs. Drives of this type are replaced when a system’s optical media function fails independently of its processor or storage subsystem. Tech-Star ships worldwide from UK stock. Confirm your Power Systems chassis takes a SATA slimline optical drive rather than an IDE unit before ordering, since the two interfaces are not interchangeable.
