The IBM 46K7591 is a POWER6 processor card running at 3.5GHz, from the same family as the 2-core 3.5GHz cards used in IBM’s 9117-MMA and 9406-MMA Power 570 servers. The Power 570 was one of IBM’s flagship mid-range POWER6 servers, built for AIX, IBM i and Linux workloads that needed more headroom than the entry-level 520 and 550 lines. Processor cards in this family are swapped when a card develops a fault or when an installation is upgraded within its supported clock-speed range.
