The IBM 97P3502 is a 32GB, 633MHz CUoD (Capacity Upgrade on Demand) memory book for the p690 (machine type 7040-681) high-end pSeries server, the same platform and generation as the 64GB sibling part 97P3505. CUoD memory ships physically installed but is licensed in increments, so a system can be delivered with more raw memory capacity than it is initially entitled to use, and additional capacity is activated in software as the customer’s licence grows rather than by a further hardware swap.

The p690 Regatta-class server is a large, multi-book Power4 system still found in legacy data-centre estates. Confirm the exact machine type, model and existing licensed capacity before ordering.
