The IBM 97P3359 is a PCI-X dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI adapter, Type 5702 with feature code 5712, the same card family and function as the closely related part 97P6513. It provides two independent 320MB/s SCSI channels through dual VHDCI external ports, letting one card attach external tape or removable-media devices at full Ultra320 throughput across pSeries and RS/6000 systems. IBM reissued this same adapter design under multiple part numbers over its service life as the manufacturing source changed; 97P3359 and 97P6513 both describe functionally identical cards rather than different products.
