The Sun 375-3290-02 is a 64MB Radeon based PCI graphics accelerator supplied by Sun for its workstations and for servers that need a local console, in the RoHS compliant build.

It fits a standard PCI slot and drives a monitor directly, which sounds unremarkable until you are standing in front of a SPARC system whose only other route in is a serial console. Sun used Radeon PCI cards as the low cost graphics option alongside its own XVR series framebuffers, and Solaris carries the driver in the base install for that reason. Where a machine runs a graphical login or a local management session, the card is not optional.
