Newbridge Alcatel 90-2517-12 Newbridge 3600 MainStreet WAN switching Telecom System Card / Module

The Newbridge Alcatel 90-2517-12 is a circuit emulation card recorded as E1CE, from the same base number as the other circuit emulation card in our stock. Circuit emulation carries a conventional 2 Mbit/s E1 across the switch’s cell based fabric so that the equipment at each end sees a transparent leased line. The Newbridge Alcatel branding reflects the period after the 2000 acquisition, when the same hardware shipped under both names.

Newbridge Networks built the MainStreet range of multiplexers and switches, later sold under Alcatel after the 2000 acquisition, and the 90- prefixed numbering identifies cards, shelves and cables across that range. The 36170 MainStreet Xpress ATM switch and the 36120 and 46020 multiplexers took interface cards for E1, T1, T3, E3 and circuit emulation, with a control card at the centre of each shelf. The platforms are out of support and maintained from held stock.
