The Intel PWLA8492MT is a PRO/1000 MT dual port server adapter, the retail boxed version of Intel’s two port copper Gigabit card. It carries two auto negotiating 10/100/1000BASE-T ports on RJ45 over a PCI-X interface, and Intel’s teaming drivers allow the pair to be bonded for throughput, configured as an active and standby pair for failover, or split across VLANs.

The low profile bracket supplied with it lets the card go into 1U and 2U servers as well as full height chassis. Adapters in the PRO/1000 MT family are among the best supported network cards of their generation, with drivers present in most operating systems of the period without additional installation, which is often the reason a like for like replacement is preferred over newer hardware. Confirm the slot type is PCI-X rather than PCI Express. Refurbished.
