The IBM 3299-002 is an 8-port coax terminal multiplexer designed to work alongside IBM 3174 Establishment Controllers within the IBM 3270 Information Display System. It provides eight BNC coaxial connectors, allowing a single controller port to serve up to eight 3270-series terminals or printers over shared coax runs.

Multiple 3299 multiplexers, together with the Terminal Multiplexer Adapter feature, could be attached to a single 3174 controller, extending the number of terminals a controller could support without adding further direct coax runs back to the controller itself. This made it a practical way to fan out terminal connectivity across a floor or building.
