The IBM 00E1069 is a Flexible Service Processor (FSP) card, feature code 5664, CCIN 2BBB, confirmed for the IBM Power 770 server (machine-type 9117-MMB), fitted to drawers 1 and 2 of the frame. The FSP operates independently of the main system processors, providing diagnostics, initialisation, run-time error detection and hardware management console (HMC) connectivity, and gives IBM service tools visibility into the frame even when the operating system is down. Genuine FSP replacements are a routine requirement when a service processor reports a fault or loses HMC connectivity, and the frame keeps running through the swap thanks to the redundant FSP in the second drawer.
