Nortel NTCA48AA Message Exchange (MX) card for the OPTera Long Haul 1600 (OLH1600) optical line system.

The Nortel NTCA48AA is a Message Exchange (MX) card for the Nortel OPTera Long Haul 1600 (OLH1600) optical line system, part of the long-haul DWDM common equipment family alongside the NTCA40/41 series breaker and controller cards.

The MX card handles overhead and management message exchange within the OLH1600 shelf, carrying supervisory and network management signalling between the shelf controller and other common equipment or remote network elements. This keeps the optical line system’s management plane running alongside the traffic-carrying DWDM channels.

OLH1600 systems were deployed by carriers for high-capacity, long-distance DWDM backbone transmission. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide. Get in touch to confirm compatibility with your Optera Long Haul 1600 system.
