The Cisco WS-C2950G-24-EL-DC is a member of the Catalyst 2950G family of fixed-configuration Fast Ethernet switches, fitted with 24 x 10/100 ports plus two Gigabit Ethernet uplink slots (GBIC-based) and built for DC-powered environments such as central offices and telecom cabinets, where -36V to -72V DC feeds are standard rather than AC mains.

The Catalyst 2950 series was Cisco’s entry/mid-range managed Ethernet switch line, offering VLANs, QoS traffic prioritisation and Layer 2 management extended to the network edge. DC-powered ‘-DC’ variants of the 2950G were built specifically for telecom and utility sites running on battery-backed DC power plants, connecting via a terminal block to the site’s DC feed rather than a standard IEC mains lead.
