Scientific Atlanta

Scientific Atlanta was founded in Georgia in 1951 and grew into one of the two dominant suppliers of cable television equipment, second only to Motorola in set top boxes. Its range covered broadband access networks, cable modems, digital interactive subscriber systems and the PowerVu platform used by broadcasters to distribute video securely over satellite. Cisco Systems acquired the company in February 2006 and ran it as its cable and video business. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Scientific Atlanta hardware including D9840 DVB and PowerVu satellite receivers, D9844 commercial decoders and D9850 program receivers with conditional access. Refurbished Scientific Atlanta hardware remains in demand because PowerVu networks still carry broadcast feeds and adding or replacing a receive site rarely justifies changing the whole headend. Submit any Scientific Atlanta part number via the enquiry form for current pricing, condition information and availability.
