The Newtec DVB 2080, from Newtec’s NTC/2080 range, is a DVB-compliant satellite modulator used to generate the modulated carrier for digital broadcast or data transmission over satellite. It accepts an MPEG transport stream or IP input and outputs a DVB-S modulated IF signal for onward upconversion and transmission, supporting the standard forward error correction and framing required for interoperability with DVB-compliant integrated receiver-decoders across the downlink footprint. Newtec’s NTC/2000-series modulators were widely deployed by broadcasters, teleports and satellite network operators for digital TV distribution, contribution and IP-over-satellite services through the 2000s.
