The Huawei BBU3900 is the baseband processing unit at the heart of Huawei’s 3900 series base station platform, used across GSM, UMTS (WCDMA) and LTE radio access network deployments. Housed in a compact 2U, 19-inch subrack, the BBU3900 hosts the main control and transmission board (WMPT/UMPT), one or more baseband processing boards (from the WBBP, UBBP or LBBP families depending on radio technology and capacity), power and environment interface boards (UPEU/UEIU) and fan modules, giving operators a common hardware chassis that can be reconfigured for different air interfaces as networks evolve. The BBU3900 connects to remote radio units (RRUs) or integrated RF modules over CPRI, and links back to the core network over E1/T1, IP or optical transmission interfaces depending on board fit.
