The Huawei BTS3900B is a compact, highly integrated GSM base transceiver station, built as a pico BTS with a volume of only around 2 litres. Unlike a traditional multi-cabinet BTS, the BTS3900B integrates transmission, main control, baseband processing, RF processing and power amplification functions into a single self-contained unit, built around a baseband processing board and an RF module in a compact plastic housing. Typical RF output is up to 200mW for GMSK modulation and 126mW for 8PSK, with a static receiver sensitivity of around -100dBm, and the unit accepts either 110/220V AC input (via power adapter) or -54V DC input, drawing a maximum of around 20-32W depending on configuration. At roughly 165 x 230 x 54mm and 1.5kg with an IP30 rating, the BTS3900B is designed for compact indoor or lightly protected installations such as small cell sites, in-building coverage and capacity infill, rather than full outdoor macro deployments.
