The Nortel DR4001084-E6 is a WLAN Access Point 2330-A, a dual-radio 802.11a/b/g enterprise wireless access point from Nortel’s WLAN 2300 series. It provides simultaneous 2.4GHz (802.11b/g) and 5GHz (802.11a) coverage from a single unit and is designed for standalone or lightly-managed enterprise wireless deployments rather than the controller-based architecture used by Nortel’s later 2300-series access points. It mounts on a ceiling or wall and is typically powered over Ethernet from a PoE-capable switch port. Confirm firmware and management-mode compatibility against the rest of an existing WLAN 2300 deployment before ordering, since Nortel revised the series’ management model across its production run. This access point remains a working spare for sites still running Nortel’s 2300-series wireless infrastructure.
