The Nortel NTDU76BB70 is a Nortel i2002 IP Telephone, supplied without a mains power supply for installations powering the handset over Ethernet instead. The i2002 is Nortel’s entry-level IP desk phone for the CS1000/Succession telephony platform, offering a single line appearance with a small monochrome display, alongside the higher-specification i2004 in the same handset family. It is designed to draw power over the Ethernet cable from an inline-powered switch port or an external midspan injector, which is why this variant ships without its own power brick: a site with PoE-capable switching infrastructure has no need for one, and the separate NTDU76-prefix PSU-included variants and the standalone A0656598 power adapter cover sites that need local power instead. The i2002/i2004 family was carried forward under Avaya following its 2009 acquisition of Nortel’s enterprise communications business, and both handsets remain in widespread service on legacy CS1000 and Succession systems.
