The Nortel NTHX30AA is an enhanced dual core packet server. Packet servers of this type provide the processing core inside Nortel packet handling equipment, with the dual core arrangement giving redundancy so the node keeps running if one side fails. We would still ask you to check the release code against the equipment it is destined for, because suffixes inside one part number are not always interchangeable.

DPN-100 and the Passport family were Nortel’s packet and multiservice switching platforms, carrying X.25, frame relay, ATM and later IP services for carriers and large enterprises. A node is assembled from function processors, each pairing a processor with the physical interface for one service type, plus control processors and the shelf that carries them.
